We’ve all seen it - a resume that ticks every box, and yet… something doesn’t click. Or the opposite: someone whose background isn’t a “perfect match,” but who ends up being a star hire.
So what DOES make someone a great addition to a team?
Experience matters, of course. But when we think about the people who’ve really made an impact in a role, it’s often not just what they’ve done - it’s how they think, collaborate, adapt.
Sometimes, the qualities that matter most can’t be found in a CV.
Here’s What We’ve Noticed
In our work, the greatest hires often share traits like:
Genuine curiosity
Strong self-awareness
Alignment with the company’s rhythm and values
They grow as the role grows
These aren’t always easy to “screen” for, but they show up in conversation, attitude, and small things that reveal a lot.
We’re curious - what qualities have made someone a great hire for you, beyond what was on paper?
Let’s hear your thoughts.
